My grandmother came from the "old country" her recipe is a little bit different. Hers has finely chopped salami, real bacon bits, celery leaf, parsley. The bread is prepared the same and a combination of milk and egg is used to soften the product for ball making. The broth they are cooked in is beef broth with celery, carrots, onion and soup bones.
